Frosh: First Blush - Monica B. Wagner

I was given this ARC in exchange of a honest review.

So, we have Daniella (Ellie), Devon, Grant and Charlie. The story is told in their POV. It takes a little to long to begin.

It starts with Ellie, who is a freshman at Hillson U. She wants to be a reporter at the college news paper and she mets her R.A. and her probably boss if she can land the job at the newspaper. As a test to get the job there she is assigned to interview the new star QB Grant Landry. They instantly connect, but she´s afraid of put her position at newspaper in risk.

And, then, we have Devon, she´s also a freshman but already knows a lot about whats going on at the U. She´s the fifth Connors generation at Hillson U. She´s trying to recover her family prestige back and is obsessed with Grant. She wants Them to be a star couple with the media bless, she thinks this way everyone will forget her family sins.

Grant is a jock, right. But he´s also smart and sweet. As his relationship with Ellie seems to went wrong, he try to engage one with Devon, but he knows nothing will happen between them.

Charlie is a geek, a chem geek. God knows I love geeks, and Charlie has nothing not to like. He´s just perfect, and he is too much of a nice guy to that manipulative Devon.

You know, the initial plot made me remember a poem from a Brazilian Author named Carlos Drummond de Andrade.

Square Dance

João loved Teresa who loved Raimundo
who loved Maria who loved Joaquim
who loved Lili
who loved nobody...

In this case Devon woul be the one who loved nobody.
It took me a long time to see things her way, she's too manipulative, conniving and thinks very highly of herself.

As the story starts to develop, it grabs your attention with its twists and throws you to the curb. It have so many sub-plots, but they all connected perfectly. It reminds me a lot of Midsummer night´s dream by Shakespeare.

I enjoyed very much. It made laugh, made me angry, feel sorry and it surprised me.

Unfortunately it finishes with a cliffhanger, wich it annoys the hell out of me. But I can certainly say, that I will read the next one, and also another books by the author

Unconditional - Cherie M. Hudson

This book is hilarious and is also heartbreaking. Maci is a american college student going to Australia to work on her thesis.

She´s 22 and was diagnosed with Parkinson´s a year ago, and her mother was diagnosed with the same disease when Macy was 12. Her father died and she´s her mother´s support, but when Macy was offered the chance to go to Australia her mother demanded Macy to go.

Maci is nervous about her trip to Australia, and she´s been having weird dreams about it:

"In one, I was dating a kangaroo that sounded like Chris Hemsworth."

Her arrive at the australian airport makes you laugh hard.

"...one of them who seriously looked like Russell Crowe. If Russell Crowe was fat. And older. And a woman."

At the airport she run into Raph Jones, a "celebrity" in Australia. Why the quotes? Well, he´s not really a celebrity. His sister married a prince from a obscure country at Europe. But he became know and has been stalked, so the royal family sent him a bodyguard (A S.O.B.).

Macy and Raph connected in some level.

When she´s at the UNI ( college ) she discovers Raph is a student there is well. And she meets Heather and Brendon.
Heather becomes her friend, and Brendon who is a really sweet and caring guy, knows right away her problems, because his aunt suffer from Lou-Gehrig disease and he recognise the simptons. Brendon is the only one who knows about her condition.

And that put a struggle in her relationship with Raph, who thinks she´s with Brendon.

The media circus around Raph doesn´t help. They insinuate things about their relationship. That they´re a love triangle.

The royal family try to bribe Macy so she can leave Raph alone. And she tell them to fuck off. Well done Macy.

But her biggest problem with Raph is herself. She´s full of self-doubt because of her condition.

And Raph has to take matter in hands. Has to make her understand that his love for her is unconditional

Schooled (Travesty #1) - Piper Lawson

I was given a copy of this book in exchange of a honest review

To Alexis, Dylan is only her best friend's little brother. When they encounter after a few years apart, Alexis find out Dylan is really different than she thought.
They develop a relationship, but Alexis is afraid of come out to everyone, especially her best friend.
While she struggle to keep them under wraps, Dylan struggle to accept her choice.

I started this book with low expectations and it really surprised me. The only thing I did not liked was they took to much time to fix things between them. In the last moment, literally.

Enquanto Alexis luta pra manter a relação deles escondida.

No último momento, literalmente.

Drowning to breathe - A.L. Jackson

                                                                                              ** spoiler alert **

What a beautiful and heartbreaking story. It surprised me a lot. Everything was connected. All the problems Shea and Baz had was connected. His friend died to save Shea. Baz is a sweet and caring man, he loves Shea and Kallie fiercely, in his mind he´s Kallie´s daddy. In the end, his brother Austin wants to leave and says:

" I´m not leaving you Baz. It´s just time I found Myself. Told you before, the way Shea looks at youw Someday...someday I want someone to look at me the same way. And when she does, I want to be storng. Someone who can stand up for her the way you stand up for Shea. And I´m not that guy Baz. Not yet. I´m nothing but a broking little kid living inside this body, trying to pretend I´m a man."

It broke my heart. And now I´m anxiously waiting for his book.

A Stone in the Sea - A.L. Jackson

What a perfect story. Shea Bentley is the single mother of Kallie Marie Bentley, a 4 years old "butterfly". Sebastian "Baz" Stone is the leader of a hard rock band. They´re both hiding from trouble when they find each other. Their journey is beatiful and heart breaking. The final destroyed me, made me cry like a baby. To see such a beautiful love taken from you that way. It finishes with a cliffhanger but fortunately the second one is already out, so I could start imediately after. This book is just perfect, it has sweet and tender love, is hot, and has the most perfect man for the most perfect girl.

Fallen Crest University - Tijan

I love all Tijan's books. They always left me with "I want more" in my mind. The connection between Mason, Samantha and Logan is beautiful, they love, care and are there for each other. I´m anxious for Logan´s Book, but i´m worried because Idon´t know how another person will fit between them.

Irresistível - M.S. Fayes

Absoluto - M.S. Fayes

Isso me tira do sério.

PARA TUDO, WHAT?

Adorei as citações no decorrer do livro:

E, eu me perguntando porqueeeee Senhor?

Amor Inteiro - Maribell Azevedo

Amor No Ninho - Maribell Azevedo

Finalmente, eu emprestei a versão digital no kindle unlimited.

Retrace - Sigal Ehrlich

I was given this Copy in exchange for a honest review.

When I requested this book at netgalley, it was because of the female character whom is from Brazil. Just like me, Yay. I was really happy right at beginning when I learnt that not only she is brazilian she´s also from my hometown, Fortaleza. I was deliriously happy about it.

So, Nia and Reeves met at a Hotel where they´re mistakenly put at same room. And they met again and again, always with no intention until they found out they´re neighbors.
Reeves feels survivor guilt because his best friend Ben, died in a mission they´re was together.
Ben left his family behind, including a sister, wich is in love with Reeves and she is a B.I.T.C.H. I was soo angry with her, and also with Reeves, because, he always left Nia, to go "help" Kate. She was a vicious woman behind her "sweetness". And it make me mad, because Reeves was so in love with Nia, their chemistry was ginormous, but he let her down again and again because of Kate. and because he was too stubborn and proud to say something.

Nia had her own problems. She felt like she didn't belong anywhere and she said that to Reeves, his answer was:

"" You belong here" He draws a arrow that points to the pillow I´ve been resting my head on every night for the last few months. Emotions bubble up inside of me. Scared, I laugh it off..."

...""It´s always about sex, huh? `You` is pretty general, you know, you can just use it to woo anyone you get in here"...

... " With his stare penetrating mine he slowly writes on his skin, just mere inches above his heart: Nia"

OMG, he´s so sweet, he just need to kick Kate´s ass to the curb.

Just so you can have a idea about how blind he is to her bitchness. Nia and Reeves are at Jake´s bar and they´re almost kissing, their mouths breathing each other and...

" "Reeves" a pair of slim hand wrap around my neck. Both Nia amd I flinch back, dumbstruck. A cloud of sweet scent angulfs me while soft lips press onto my cheek.... "Let´s go grab a drink and catch up", she shouts above Carmie´s lingering song. "

And he just left with her, he says to Nia, he´ll be right back and goes with Kate. I don´t know who made me more angry. I just want it to slap them 7 sundays to reason.

And after that Kate still asks for a ride, because her friends are going to another club and she wants to go home. And he left with her. OMG, I wanted to kill Kate and Reeves.

He always choose her, and it grate my nerves.

Until Nia and Reeves fix everything I was about to get my kindle and throw in their heads.

I think the story "per se" had much more potential and could be better developed. The Brazilian part was barely mentioned, the readers aren´t even informed about Nia real last name, she uses her mother, which is north american, maiden name. And her father name isn´t mentioned in any moment. In the end Reeves visits Nia´s family with her, and left her with them while he goes to "Pantanal", a wetland area in Brazil, but it is spelled incorrectly as "Panatal"

I will look for another books by this author.

More than water - Renee Ericson

"I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review"

I´m thrilled to say I loved this book. It started kind of obvious, but it developed really well.

Right in the beginning, the obvious:

" The bass pumps steadily in the dark room as Chandra, my roommate for the past three years, and I make our way through the crowd of fans, looking for Cal on the stage, his band should be warming up soon. Cal, my boyfriend for mine months, has no idea I´m coming tonight. I wanted to surprise him."

I guess you and I Know who will be surprised in the following scene. And yeah, he was cheating on her. But, her reaction was awesome:

" "Surprise, Cal!" I say in an overly excited fashion, using jazz hands for emphasis. " I´m back"."
"EJ", Cal draws. He blinks, dumbfounded, and minutely shakes his head, like he´s trying to make his brain focus. He creates some space between himself and the girl who obviously has intimate knowledge of his body- or at least would like to."I thought you weren't coming back until nest week"
"Oh, Cal, darling, my sweet pie"- I smirk- " I came back to see you and give you a surprise blow job, but it looks like you´re set for the night. Hell, you might even get laid by your new friend."

A standup ovation for EJ, please.

And the crasy-ass cheater:

" Screw you EJ. We were just having fun"

Can you believe it?

And then, she meets Foster. The cute chemic geek, with a look "A la Clark Kent" including the square jaw, the baby blues, and the strong hands. "SWOONING". He´s a coworker at college engineering library. and they became really good friends.

Their chemistry is off the charts, and they became really good friends with benefits.

"You´re grouchy", he teases, sliding his palm around my waist. "Maybe what you really need is a healthy dose of oxytocin."
"Of what?."
"It´s a pleasure chemical."
"You know I love it when you talk nerdy to me",I jest at his playfulness. "Forget dirty wordsmithery. Science is where it´s at."
" Is that so?"
I nod.
"You could also benefit from a little serotonin," he utters in a seductive tone at my ear.
" Keep talking."
"Dopamine." H etrails his warm tongue along the length of my neck.
"That´s so fucking sexy."
"You´re not kidding, are you?" Foster nips at mey chin, "You really like this?"...

and it keeps getting hotter

They´re falling for each other, but both have secrets and issues.

I loved this book. And I´m in love with Foster, his my new book boyfriend.
