High Interest: Book One (The Paragon Series) by Leigh James

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Silicon Valley's rougher than it looks.
Being a scientist gives Lauren Taylor a purpose in life. At twenty-five, she's the CEO of a billion-dollar biomedical company, Paragon Laboratories. On the brink of a major discovery, Lauren lets nothing interfere with her work. The only thing she's not prepared for? Her overwhelming attraction to Gabriel Betts, the gorgeous and brilliant CEO of another Silicon Valley startup.

Billionaire Gabriel Betts is a successful scientist in his own right. He's made his way in the world by being an early adopter and never losing focus. Captivated by Lauren's brilliance and unselfconscious beauty, he's determined to win the reclusive female CEO over.

But what neither Gabe nor Lauren expect is the white-collar danger that's lurking in Silicon Valley... The danger that threatens not only their companies, but their very existence.

Cliffhanger Warning! Part 1 of a sexy, suspenseful three-part serial.

I absolutely loved this book. It was perfect. The plot, the characters, the development.
Lauren was the perfect woman, she's intelligente-smart, business-smart, driven, a bit socially awkward, and completely unaware of her effect on the people who surround her.
Gabriel was her complement in everything, he was the yin for her yang.
I´m anxious for the next one.

Wild Cards (Twisted #3) by R.C. Stephens

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Dark Romance (Standalone)

She grew up with love but tragedy took everything away from her.

He was forced into a life that he hated and was drowning in darkness.

They both lost hope...

They both looked for ways to numb the pain...

To him, she was unpredictable and alluring. To her, he was a dark knight with a shady past. What happened next was unexpected. Their chance encounter was not chance anymore. As their worlds collide and their impenetrable walls are infiltrated, these two dark souls are forced to face the one thing on earth that scares them the most… Love.

***This is a standalone novel and does not need to be read with books one and two of the Twisted Series.

***Warning-For mature audiences only.

Wild Cards is a love story of the greatest and most epic proportions. However this love story faced many bumps in the road and in order to tell Luc and Vicky's story I needed to touch on the scene of aggravated sexual assault. I feel it is my job to advise the reader of this violent episode. This aspect does not define the whole story and the book is not about violence rather about two dark souls saving each other while finding true love.

This book it was a big let down for me. Since the very beginning. I think the reason why Victoria was so troubled wasn't strong enough for her to be like that. When I first read it I thought it would be something much worst.

The relationships in the book felt forced, between Luc and Vicky and between Vicky and Nessa.

Playing House by Mira Day

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Sometimes you have to do things differently in order to be happy.

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Hannah Bishop's boyfriend is cheating on her. When Caleb Matthews's the city's most eligible bachelor and a regular at the cafe where Hannah works, steps up to help her, she uncovers secrets about the man she's running from and the man who has become her hero.
Combining love and action, Playing House explores the secrets people keep and the personal choices everyone must make to achieve happiness.

**Note: This story contains strong character appropriate language, violence and sexual situations.**

The plot was really interesting, and I had great expectations but it wasn't so good as I assumed it would be.

Some important things were overlooked and others not so important were overexposed. Also, I couldn't connect with the characters.

Before You Go (Impossible Love #1) by Clare James

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Paralyzed by the past and terrified of the future, Tabitha Kelly is broken.

After a public sex scandal at her college, Tabby moves to a new city with a new school, convinced she can start over. But she soon realizes the changes are not enough. Tabby must take action to help her heal and move on from the past.
And though it sounds crazy, she believes a one-night stand is the best way to take back what’s hers. If she can choose where, when, and most importantly, who … maybe she can regain control.
First, she needs a willing participant.

She finds more than that when she meets Noah Adler.

Unfortunately, she can’t go through with it. And when she tries to forget about the plan—and the guy—it becomes impossible.

Noah quickly weaves his way into her new life and her heart. But as he comes dangerously close to discovering her secret, Tabby’s at risk of losing it all.

I loved the idea of this story, but the story per se wasn't so enjoyable as I thought it would be.

The very beginning was nice but after that was kind of flat. Noah and Tabby didn't have the connection the story told, it felt a little forced. But I think a lot of people will enjoy it very much.

The Billionaire Heartbreaker (The Billionaire's Club: Texas Heartthrobs #3) by Mandy Baxter

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

In The Billionaire Heartbreaker by Mandy Baxter, Travis Christensen's life is one big party. He only has two concerns: being a star goalkeeper on the ice for the Dallas Stars, and keeping a revolving door of women at his beck and call. But when a feisty, fiery PR rep comes to tone down his image before the coach benches him, Travis has got a whole new mess on his hands...and he can't help but want more.

Reily Martin never met an image she couldn't make squeaky clean. So when the coach of the Dallas Stars hires her to reform their bad-boy goalie, Reily is more than up to the challenge. But dealing with the arrogant-and incredibly sexy-Travis Christensen proves to be more than she bargained for. She knows she shouldn't fall for hockey's most notorious playboy-but as the heat blazes between them, it gets harder and harder to say no
.

Travis Christensen thinks he's a gift from god to women all around the country. He´s hot, rich and a athlete, but he´s in a serious need of a behavioral makeover. Enters Reily Martin, she will reform him all right.

I enjoyed very much this story, it was entertaining  and funny, could have been a little longer and deeper, it had the all the necessary tools for it, but it fell short. Nothing bad, just something missing.

Brave (Oni Fighters #1) by Natalie Gayle

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

A moment in time, that’s all it took. Beauty, pain and tragedy.

Xander “Pretty Boy” Todd was a demon in the ring. A professional MMA fighter with a career that had the world a buzz—but now it’s gone. Or is it?

Eden Sommers had her dreams of an international modelling career within her grasp—and lost it. Gone within a few seconds, leaving nothing but pain.

How do you go on, when the one thing that defines you is suddenly ripped away—only to leave scars and a hollow shell in its place? Has the beauty gone forever? Or has it just retreated—to now be hidden, and dormant; guarded by the inner demons?

Can these two wounded souls find the inner strength to fight back the demons together and find the beauty in their lives once again?

To do this, they must first accept—The hardest demons to defeat are the ones inside. They’ll have to be BRAVE.

Though I did enjoy the book, it fell short to my expectations. It was a nice plot but it could be much better developed.
I loved the connection between Xander and Eden, he understood her needs and tried to provide for her, it was really sweet.

But, at some point I felt like the story was dragging too much, the dialogues was too long, could have been cut in half without losses.

Loving Her Crazy (Crazy Love #3) - Kira Archer

I was given an ARC in exchang of an honest review.

Iris Clayton is supposed to be on a tropical island, soaking up the sun and a few dozen mojitos. Instead, she’s snowbound in Chicago overnight, holding out hope the morning flight isn’t cancelled. Good thing there’s a hot cowboy to keep her company. And it doesn’t hurt that Mr. Tall, Calm, and Sun-Streaked can make her tremble with one sultry look from under his well-worn hat.

Montana rancher Nash Wallace sucks at ice skating, has no clue what a selfie is, and may be a tad averse to breaking and entering, but being with Iris makes him want to bend a few rules. Or, hell, throw them out the window altogether. She’s fun, spontaneously crazy, and can rock a Muppet fur coat like no one’s business. He’s falling hard and fast, but wanting to spend his life with someone after one night is insane.

Except, nothing has ever felt so right, and neither of them wants the night to end…

I love the idea of love at first sight, unfortunately not all authors can transmit this without seem cheesy or without lacking the connection between the characters. And Kira Archer did it perfectly. She delivered a short and sweet story of love at first sight, without making my teeth ache and I could feel the connection between Iris and Nash. I completely fell in love with them.

Shattered Perfection by Heather R Guimond

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Mimi Bishop found the man of her dreams when she met Vance Ashcroft in a chance encounter. During their whirlwind courtship, they learn they share a sparkling and dynamic chemistry, filled with humor, happiness and steamy sensuality. Their relationship is effortless and blossoms into a passionate love. Soon Mimi is living her happily ever after with Vance as his wife until his behavior mysteriously begins to change. Vance grows cold, then hostile, finally becoming violent one fateful night. Her perfect life and heart shattered, Mimi attempts to move on to a life without Vance. Powerful memories of their love haunt her, making it almost impossible to heal and become whole again. Just when Mimi thinks she can finally put the past behind her, she learns a devastating secret about Vance that threatens to shatter her forever. **This book contains graphic material not intended for readers under 18 years of age.**

This book was surprising but at same time was really predictable. Let me explain better, I thought the plot was surprising, meaning that I didn't saw it before, but at he same time it was surprising, it was also really predictable. It was like read a Agatha Christie book knowing who was the killer in the very beginning.

But, don´t let this keep you away from this book. It worth the reading. It was well written and developed and the characters are deep. Mimi and Vance were perfect until his problem started, I cried a lot with them and all their struggle. Was overwhelming, crushed my heart. When was time to let it go, I was weeping like a baby. And when the book was finally over, I was screaming like an insane for the next one.

Delayed Penalty (Crossing the Line #1) - Shey Stahl

A minor penalty that is not called until the offending team gains control of the puck. As long as the non-offending team maintains possession, the referee allows play to continue and signals a delayed penalty by raising his arm.

I’m Evan Mason, an NHL hockey player for the Chicago Blackhawks. I spend my nights roughing up two hundred pound defensemen and, at times, spend more time in the penalty box than I do on the ice.

That’s my job.

One night changed everything I thought I once knew about my life on, and off, the ice.

A girl.

A brutally beaten girl left to die in an alley.
I don’t know why or how but something made me stay that night after taking her to the hospital. I didn’t know her, nor did I have an obligation to stay but something inside of me rooted me there telling me I should stay. Saving a life is worth something. At least I thought so. And I wouldn’t have been me if I just simply left her there.

Any man who put his heart and soul into a game of hockey couldn’t just walk away when someone needed them. She had no one else right now. The same guy who saw determination where there was desire, now saw hope where there was once despair.

I couldn’t leave. That wouldn’t be me. No, not a man that put all he had into something some called just a game. I couldn’t walk away from her holding onto life, weak and powerless to something she had no control over.

So I stayed. In a room full of family members praying for their loved ones to pull through, I prayed for a girl I didn’t know and had never met before, to have a beating heart. While others’ sorrows turned to grieving pain, I sat waiting on the words of the unknown.

No bond is stronger than the ones you’ll bleed for.

This is the kind of story I wait for. It made me cry for Ami and what she endured, and laugh with joy for her and Evan.
Evan is the sweetest guy, he´s so patient and caring, and at the same time, he´s strong and protective.
When Evan discovered who´s the crime perpetrator I want to join him and beat the shit out of that bastard.

Ami is so strong, even with all the sorrow in her life, she´s full of love and light.

Uncut (Unexpected #4) - Claudia Y. Burgoa

I was given this ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Matthew

My brother and sister found their calling and people to share it with for the rest of their lives. Our parents haven’t said a thing, but I can read it on their faces.
What are you doing with your life, Matthew?
I’ve always been a songwriter but can no longer find the words. Everyone around me thinks I’m where I am in life because of my parents. I’m at a crossroads in my life and I don’t know which way to turn.
I don’t define my sexuality, I do what feels right. Love? Well, that is one melody I have yet to find the right notes to. Until them…

Thea

My childhood glittered with the lights of Hollywood while my adult life has been filled with the darkness of my ghosts and addictions. But all that is behind me and I am working on spinning the pain of my past into the promise of my future. Love? Well, that’s one addiction I have not yet dared to fool with. Until them…

Tristan

I’m running from a life where my future was decided for me. What to wear. Which company to manage. Who to marry. One day, I snapped, and I haven’t been back since. Now I manage my own businesses and I am who I want to be. But behind closed doors, I am still alone and I still long for things that I’ve been taught to hate. Love? Well, that’s one merger I’ve never braved. Until them…

Warning: This book contains two sexy hunks and is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is a long, thought-provoking read which will work through the angst of finding love amidst past hurts and the pain associated with not belonging, not fitting in.

One more time I requested one book because of "Daemon and Katy" on the cover, #DaemonandKittenForever #Luxseries. And one more time I did not get disappointed.
I loved this book sooo much. It was well written and believable. Usually the books about triads aren´t believable at all. They treat the relationship between 3 persons like something usual and easy to acquire, and everyone around is full of support and love, which everyone living in the real world know that is not true.
And that´s why I loved this book so much. Matthew, Thea and Tristan had to overcome a lot of problems, with relatives, with each other and even with their own heads and hearts to accept what they needed to be happy.

It was a real relationship that they´re was trying to build, and as a real relationships they had real problems to solve and to evolve from.

The Girlfriend Request - Jodie Andrefski

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Updating best friend to girlfriend is more than a change of status…

Emma has been best friends with Eli since she moved to his neighborhood ten years ago. Tired of being cast in the role of the girl next door, Emma creates a fake Facebook profile in the hopes of starting an online friendship with Eli, which would hopefully lead to more. Like...way more. From friend request to In a Relationship--it all seemed so completely logical when she'd planned it.

Eli can't figure out what Emma is up to. He’s pretty sure she's the one behind the Facebook profile, but then again, why would she do something so drastic instead of just admitting she wants to be more than friends? And who the heck is this new guy he saw her with? Eli starts to think that just maybe...he missed his chance with the girl next door.

Two best friends, one outlandish ruse. Their status is about to become way more than It’s Complicated…

This Entangled Teen Crush book contains one fake Facebook profile, two best friends who secretly crave each other, and a dreaded sex talk with parents…boy crush in the room included. Pushing a relationship beyond the friend zone has never been so crazy…

It was a sweet and fast paced story, but it was also full of unnecessary suffering, typically adolescent behavior. It's understandable, after all, they are teenagers, but it kinds of gets old after a while, so many moments of misunderstanding. It had moments I thought they wouldn't get through, it all.

Whatever It Takes (Second Chances #2) - L.E. Bross

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Tess is burdened with a responsibility she’s not quite sure she can handle, and Ryan is determined to save her from it—if she ever stops pushing him away—in this sexy follow-up to Right Where You Are, the first new adult novel in the captivating Second Chances series.

Tess is a lot of things. Strong. Independent. Determined. Completely overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being her little brother’s caretaker. But she can handle it. She has to. Because there’s no way in hell she’s letting anyone else raise Noah.

Ryan’s happy with a life on cruise control. He has no intention of tying himself down. That road only leads to heartbreak, a lesson he learned the hard way when he was fifteen. So why can’t he stay away from the one woman who broke his heart?

Tess knows exactly why Ryan keeps popping up right when she needs the most help: He’s got a hero complex big enough to save Cinderella. But Tess isn’t that girl, and she refuses to let him be part of her life. Not even when Noah takes a liking to him. Not even when they kind of, maybe, hook up.

Not even when she starts to fall for him…

This is the second book in the Second Chance series, is about a different couple, Ryan and Tess, but is as good as the first one.
Well written the story is fast paced and drama-free, which I love. Ryan is the kind of guy every woman dream about, he´s sweet, caring, understanding and most of all Tess can count on him to share her burden.

And Tess is the kind of girl every men should dream about it. She´s independent, fierce, loyal, work hard, and she may think Ryan can help, but she´s not waiting for him to do it.

The Wedding (Lux #5.5) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

It´s a sweet and short story about Daemon and Kitten´s wedding. The only problem is... it´s short.
#DaemonandKittenforever

Found on Wattpad here:

This should not be read unless you have read the Lux series.

Oblivion (Lux #1.5) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

I'm a super fan of JLA books, specially the Lux series, #DaemonandKittenforever. And I waited anxiously for Oblivion release date, and put all books aside so I could read Oblivion. I loved soooo much, to relive this story again, that I read the Origin and Opposition again as well. And the wedding.
If you never read this series I strongly recommend you to put everything aside and start right now, if you already knows Daemon and Kitten story, but didn't read Oblivion yet, I strongly recommend you to put everything aside and start right now.
Though Oblivion tells the same story of Obsidian, Onyx and Opal in Daemon´s POV, it has a lot of new scenes and dialogues.

I recommend this book to everyone who loves YA or NA books, with a twist of sci-fi and revolution. The love between Katy and Daemon is one of the most beautiful things I ever see.

E The Wedding.

Stars in her Eyes - Kennedy Kelly

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Red carpet and one look was all it took to ignite the spark between Sachi Waters and mega-star Drayke Sloan. With a proposition that is typically left in the movies, the two find themselves consuming each other in a whirl wind weekend.

But when Sunday night rolls around, Sachi finds she didn’t just give Drayke her body, but her heart, too. He promised to stay in touch. But after months without a word, she gave up hope.

Until life threw them together again. The spotlight, the fans, their past all working together to keep these two apart. Can their love over come it all?

This book has mature content and is only suitable for those 18 and over.

Ok, I´m in a serious trouble here. This book has a really good premise, I love a movie star book, but it was just bad. In every way, the character development is inexistent, the plot was terribly developed, the lines went from cheesy to crude to idiotic, some scenes were grotesque.
And the real trouble for me was almost every one saying this book was good, made me ask myself if I read the same book.
Sachi went from sassy to a whine and cry and throw up, so much that I spent most part of the book thinking she was pregnant.
The MC´s has no real connection, everything felt forced.
Is hard to write a bad review, because we all know how much work an author put behind each book, but this one has no redemption.
