Drowning by Margaret McHeyzer

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

I’m a cutter.
I cut because I find solace in it.
I cut because it helps calm my frantic mind.
I cut because the voices inside my head tell me to.
I cut because this is the only way I know how to handle life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mental health issues in youth is growing alarmingly. An early diagnosis can be the difference between life and death.

Is  good to have books written to young adults approaching this theme, so commonly avoided in family and school conversations.

I think it was great that they both Ivy and Tobias had problems to overcome. Most books that address the issue, only one of the characters has it, so to both of them struggle with it, and learn how to not trigger the other one crisis its a learning in itself.

Though I didn´t liked it how Tobias just left, I can understand and respect why he did it. He want it to be a better version of himself to be with Ivy.

Kudos to Miss McHeyzer for handle it so perfectly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dirty Exes (Liars, Inc. #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Blaire has never quite gotten over Jessie Beckett, the ex–NFL star whose kisses were hot enough to ignite the entire Eastern Seaboard. When he chose work over her, Blaire was left brokenhearted. Why else would she have married a skeezy two-timer, just to divorce him less than a year later?
Now Blaire is getting even by becoming one half of Dirty Exes, a PI firm fully committed to humiliating cheating jerks. If only the new jerk she’s been hired to uncover wasn’t Jessie Beckett himself.
Exposing Jessie isn’t going to be easy, especially when she still daydreams about his sexy smile. Further complicating matters is Colin, Jessie’s best friend. He’s gorgeous, a little bit cunning, and willing to help Blaire get the inside scoop on Jessie—for a price.
Now caught between two men—one totally right and the other totally wrong—Blaire will need to decide just how much she’s willing to risk…and whom she’s willing to risk it for.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a nice book. I liked the plot and the pace, but I felt like it was missing something.
The Dirty Exes idea was hilarious, I laughed a lot with their shenanigans.
But, what I liked most was Colin, he´s perfect, I loved how he never hided his feelings or thoughts from Blaire, and chased her because she was what he want it.
I love who owns your own feelings and goes for it, without power games, or misunderstandings because you don´t say what you want it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As She Fades By Abbi Glines

On the night of her high school graduation, Vale McKinley and her boyfriend Crawford are in a terrible car accident that leaves Crawford in a coma. They were supposed to spend the summer planning for college, for a bright future full of possibility. Together. Instead, Vale spends long days in the hospital, hoping Crawford will awaken.

Slate Allen, a college friend of Vale's brother, has been visiting his dying uncle at the same hospital. When he and Vale meet, she can't deny the flutter of an illicit attraction. She tries to ignore her feelings, but she's not immune to Slate's charm. Slowly, they form a cautious friendship.

Then, Crawford wakes up . . . with no memory of Vale or their relationship. Heartbroken, Vale opts to leave for college and move on with her life. Except now, she's in Slate's territory, and their story is about to take a very strange turn.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For me its always hard to review a book of Abbi Glines, because even though I usually like the story as a whole, I never like her characters, they´re always the same. The girl, who is super beautiful and super nice, and selfless, and thoughtfull, and a lot of other adjectives describing how superb she is. And the boy, who its always the stud, who likes to play Ash Ketchum and "Catch´em all" and then they see how wrong they were with their ways when they meet the selfless, thoughtfull girl.

I mean, come on, one book like this, we can tolerate, even two, but all of them?

And, As She Fades, even though has a little of a twist plot, wasn´t really a original one.

I don´t know what else to say, besides, I´m sorry. I don´t like to give bad reviews. I know every author puts their sweat and blood to write a book, but I can´t say it was supergood, or that I loved. But I do can say, it was better than her last books, which I couldn´t even finish.

You probably are asking yourself: "Why did you keep reading if you hate them so much?"

First of all, I didn´t hate them, I just did´nt like that much.

And, I loved the Vincent Boys series, I don´t even remember if the girl and boy in this series were like the others, but I remember that I liked when I first read them, and I keap reading her books, waiting to find another one that I like that much.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Breathless By Celeste Bradley

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

A sensuous, delightful romantic women's fiction novel from New York Times bestselling authors Celeste Bradley and Susan Donovan!

She was "the Swan." London's premiere courtesan. Men want to be with her. Women loathe her success and yet admire her beauty, her riches, her independence. But when the jealous wife of her lover moves to have the Swan banished from her home on the high seas, she winds up crashed against Spain's rocky coast with no shoes, no clothes-and no name. Taken in by a tortured, sensuous man known as The Artist, the Swan comes to know the woman she wants to be—her artist's siren.

When Art Professor Brenna Anderson is in danger of losing her post at Harvard, the rule-following, prim professor is at a loss of how to salvage the shreds of her life. But when a new painting in the mysterious Siren collection is discovered in a dusty old house in France, Brenna does the unthinkable—hops on a plane to uncover the identity of the beautiful, enigmatic woman who is the subject of the paintings.

There's just one hitch—the frustrating, irritating, bold and beautiful art hunter, Fitch Wilder, is also looking for the Siren. He's been a thorn in Brenna's professional side for years, but when their individual quests lead them to team up despite being enemies, a whole new sumptuous world of art and culture opens up for the two of them. And with it, they enter a realm of passion and love…

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I´m so lucky, lately all my requests at Netgalley have been accepted, which means I get to read my favorite writers for free. Can get it better than that? Yes, it can, and it does. Because, even if it is one of your favorite authors, it does not means you like the book. But, I´m that lucky, not only I get to read them for free, I also enjoyed them. And Breathless, its no different. I like it very much.

Not only was well written, its plot didn´t have holes.  Even with several small intertwined stories, it was never confusing.

The Swan and her Artiste certainly deserved more time together, but the time that they did have together was beautifullly enjoyed.

Brenna and Fitch were perfect together, and their search made them found not only the Swan´s real history, but theirselves. as individuals and as a couple. Whatelse could they ask for?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Boy And His Ribbon by Pepper Winters

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

“What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait…that’s too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret?
I’ll tell you what you do.
You lie.”

REN

Ren was eight when he learned that love doesn’t exist—that the one person who was supposed to adore him only cared how much he was worth.
His mother sold him and for two years, he lived in terror.
But then…he ran.
He thought he’d run on his own. Turned out, he took something of theirs by accident and it became the one thing he never wanted and the only thing he ever needed.

DELLA

I was young when I fell in love with him, when he switched from my world to my everything.
My parents bought him for cheap labour, just like they had with many other kids, and he had the scars to prove it.
At the start, he hated me, and I could understand why.
For years he was my worst enemy, fiercest protector, and dearest friend.
But by the end…he loved me.
The only problem was, he loved me in an entirely different way to the way I loved him.
And slowly, my secret drove us apart.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OH.MY.GOD! How else could I start this review? Pepper Winters has overcome herself in this book.

Before this book, I read the Dollar series and I loved, but this one... It doesn´t have words enough in the world to describe how much I liked.

I can start saying that I wake up real soon as in really soon 4:30 am, go to gym, then work, then college, and I´m home again by 11 pm. So I´m particularly criterious about my sleep time. I never let myself be awake after midnight, ´cause I also need to sleep besides all that adult stuff I do. But, I couldn´t put this book down, I just couldn´t. I went until 1 am, wich is not so late for some readers, I know. But, for me, in a week night? It´s like go to sleep at 5 am. And it was only one hour before the book was over. I went to work reading (even if reading on the bus makes me nauseous), and I read in my lunch time, wich I was supposed to be studying, since I was in a exams week. And when my lunch time was over, I only had 6 minutes left to complete the book.  Can you believe it? Me neither. Do you know how frustrating that is? So, what did I do? I read it anyway, of course. Because, who could resist?

But, talking about the book. What a unexpected plot. So well written and so engaging. And the characters, I loved them all, but Ren and Della were absolutely amazing. I loved them, from the very beginning to the bitter end. How could they be that perfect for each other and didn´t see it?

I´m still marveled at how perfect this book was, did I say I loved? NO? Well, I did. A lot. And I can not wait until The Girl and Her Ren is released. Can June 5th come already?

Della and Ren, hang on. Your time is coming soon. Love you all.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bem, eu amei. Muito. E eu não posso esperar até que The Girl and Her Ren seja lançado.

Royal Match by Parker Swift

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

What to expect when you're royally expecting

In five years of marriage to Dylan Hale - the hottest (not to mention most deliciously insatiable) duke in England - I've learned one cardinal rule: Never say "no" to the Queen. Her orders? I'm to be the matron of honor at the royal wedding of the century... which is, coincidentally, my due date. Dylan's plan is to seduce me into an early labor to avoid this royal ruckus. So now I'm caught between the Queen's command... and my sexy duke's desire.

The Royal Scandal series:
Royal Affair
Royal Disaster
Royal Treatment

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Royal Match its a short story, for those of us who are missing dearlu Dylan and Lydia.

Its very sweet, no urgent matters, a walk in the park in a lazy afternoon.

Its very frustrating in a parents kind of way, if you know what I mean.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taking Chase By Lauren Dane

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Cassie Gambol is on the run. In what seems like another lifetime, her ex-husband nearly ended her life and effectively ended her successful career as a vascular surgeon. But even though the justice system found him guilty of attempted murder, he fled while awaiting sentencing and Carly Sunderland became Cassie Gambol. Fleeing Los Angeles, she heads to small and off the map Petal, Georgia to start her life again.

Shane Chase, a man whos held himself away from commitment since his fiance dumped him several years before knows the beautiful newcomer is hiding something. He's wildly attracted to her strength and her underlying vulnerability as well. But the last thing Cassie wants is another big, overwhelming man who wants to control her life.

A battle begins between Shane, who knows what he wants and Cassie, who tries to keep a distance between herself and the very handsome sheriff. But Cassies ex is back and he wants her dead.

Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, some violent situations.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love Lauren Dane´s books and I was rather excited to receive this ARC, but it though it was a good book, I kept remembering Dance Upon The Air, the first book of the Three Sister´s Island Trilogy by Nora Roberts. It was very similar, we have a woman running away from a maniac ex who will stop at nothing but murder, and a over protective sheriff as a new romantic interest. In a small town where they come to hide and found friendship and love.

I am not saying it was a bad book, not at all. It was good, and I thouroughly enjoyed, but as a huge fan of Nora´s books, and being Dance Upon the Air, one of my favorites. I guess Taking Chase would always wind up short.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
