Folsom (End of Men #1) by Tarryn Fisher

The nation as we know it is a thing of the past.

With the male species on the verge of extinction, a society called the End Men is formed to save the world. Folsom Donahue is one of twelve men whose sole purpose is to repopulate the Regions. The endless days spent having sex with strangers leaves Folsom with an emptiness no amount of women, money, or status can fill.

Until Gwen.

Gwen has wanted a child for as long as she can remember, but when she finally gets a chance to have her own, she uncovers a long hidden truth. The injustice she sees moves her to help save the men whom no one else believes need saving.

A forbidden love, grown in a time of despair, ignites a revolution.

Folsom and Gwen, torn between their love for each other and their sense of duty, must make a choice. But some will stop at nothing to destroy them.

Folsom is book one of the End of Men series.

----------------------------------------------------------

A really well written book, withan unusual plot that hooks you in from the very start.

I loved Folsom and Gwen, they were perfect for each other. Gwen was a strong woman in a world were women rules but at the same time they are ruled by their world problems.

I didn´t liked the end of this book because I understand that the next book its about Jackal and this one wasn´t over yet, so how can the authors change the main characters when Folsom and Gwen´s story isn´t over yet? And this one finishes in a great, the biggest cliff hanger ever. Can I hate you more Tarryn and Willow?

I also hated how Gwen´s sister was there in the helicopter scene. She felt like a third wheel, like she was there only and exclusively to be in their way to freedom. And SURPRISE, that´s what she did. She was so unnecessary that I can´t even remember her name.

Did I said how much I hate you Tarryn and Willow?

I can barely wait for their story to keep going.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Eu disse o quanto eu te odeio Tarryn e Willow?

Tossed Into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds

----------------------------------------------------------------

Libby Reed is over it. Or that’s what she tells herself. She’s lusted after one of New York’s bravest for years, but firefighter Antonio Moretti has doused her interest for the last time. As much as she wants the arrogant jerk (in a bad, bad way), they can’t even be in the same room without setting each other off…which might be a problem now that she’s volunteered to help out in his family’s restaurant.

Antonio’s been burned before. Now he knows better than to trust a pretty face and follow another pair of long, beautiful legs into heartbreak. But while Libby might rub him the wrong way, he can’t deny the heat between them. And it only burns hotter when she steps up in his time of need. The closer they get, the more he realizes he may have misjudged her. Then again, he doesn’t know the secret Libby’s keeping that could send their relationship up in flames before it’s even begun.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I love Aurora´s books. All of them. And this one was no different.

It was a sweet book. I loved Libby and Antonio, they complete each other perfectly.

He was the sour to her sweetness.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Eu amo os livros da Aurora. Todos eles. E este não foi diferente.

Foi um livro doce. Eu amei a Libby e o Antônio, eles se completam perfeitamente.

Ele era o azedinho pra doçura dela.

Hard Sell by Lauren Layne

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Twenty-eight and filthy rich, Matt Cannon is the youngest broker on Wall Street. He may be a “boy wonder,” but he’s every inch a man. Ask any woman—any night. But when Matt’s latest fling makes scandalous headlines, his clients get anxious, and his bosses at Wolfe Investments level an ultimatum: keep his assets zipped, get a “real” girlfriend, and clean up his act. Only one woman can help Matt with something this hard.

For PR genius Sabrina Cross, the best fixer in Manhattan, playing Matt’s steady is going to be a challenge, even if it’s just for show. They already have an explosive history, she can’t stand the cocky party boy, and worse—she can’t stop thinking about him. So who’ll dare to break her “no touching” rule first? Because when that happens, Matt and Sabrina’s game of let’s pretend will get so hot it could set both their reputations on fire.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I liked this book very much.

Matt is a very successfull broker with a penchant to get in trouble.

And Sabrina is a sassy woman, full of life who doesn´t let her feelings for Matt get in the way of what she wants. She was a firecracker and was always saving him from his own stupidity.

We could say he was the damsel in distress and she kept saving him. Hilarious.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Wicked Design by Tina Donahue

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Clover wants Van Gogh. Bad. He’s the hottest ink artist at Wicked Brand and makes her blood race. Trouble is, he hasn’t noticed her. She’s determined to change that. Starting with letting him get under her skin—literally. But then the tattoo consultation goes a little deeper than expected.

In a night of wicked hot fun, she brings out his sexy beast. Talk about a major transformation. Soon they’re sneaking into the shop after hours to play with his chair and breaking in his new handcuffs. But when their differences start to arise, she’s not sure where all this hot sex will lead...

------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a nice book. But, it was full of contraditions.

First of all, Clover was raised in a nudist colony and was super duper ok with stripping her clothes in her first date, but she was super afraid to talk to Van Gogh.

And Van Gogh, could have been a sweet guy, but he was just a whiny boy, who couldn´t stop complaining about how much he was bullied by his peers as a child and as a teen.

I know some people are bullied, and it seems to be a huge problem in american culture, but his complaining just felt like too much.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Seven Brothers and a Virgin by Ember Cole

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

They say I’m Texas royalty.

Well, this princess needs a damn break. And an orgasm or ten.

Which is why I’m standing on the doorstep of Broken Creek Ranch in the middle of a thunderstorm, determined to ditch my virginity before my father marries me off to one of his filthy rich business partners.

My plan? Pick one of the Maddox brothers to do the deed.

But that was before I came face to face with seven of the sexiest men I’ve ever seen.

I’m desperately attracted to each of them. Even oldest brother, Vance, who’s dead set against my plan. He says I’m too young. Too innocent.

Whatever.

Fortunately, his brothers invite me to stay and play before choosing who will take my innocence, but how can I pick? More importantly, will I even get the chance? Because there’s no way my father’s going to let me go…

Seven hot, hard men dedicated to the pleasure of one woman? Yes, please! This naughty, standalone reverse harem story has no cheating, and a HEA is guaranteed!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I can say that this book delivered what was promised, so I can´t complain about it.

It is a reverse harem story about seven brothers and a virgin girl. And there is nothing else beyond that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liar, Liar by Lisa Jackson

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

------------------------------------------------------------------

In death, Didi Storm is finally getting the kind of publicity that eluded her in life. Twenty years ago, the ex-beauty queen worked the Vegas strip as a celebrity impersonator, too busy trying to make it big to spare much time for her daughter, Remmi. Shortly before she leaped from a San Francisco building, Didi’s profile was rising again, thanks to a tell-all book. To Detective Dani Settler, it looks like a straightforward suicide, or perhaps a promotional stunt gone wrong. But Remmi knows the truth isn’t so simple. Because though the broken body on the sidewalk is dressed in Didi’s clothes and wig, it isn’t Didi.

Remmi was fifteen when she last saw her mother. Their parting came in the aftermath of a terrible night in the Mojave desert when Remmi—who’d secretly stowed away in Didi’s car en route to meet her crush, Noah Scott—instead became witness to a mysterious rendezvous. Didi handed over one of her newborn twins to a man Remmi didn’t recognize. Subsequently, Didi disappeared, as did Remmi’s other
half-sibling. Remmi has pleaded with the authorities to find them, but there have been no clues. Yet she’s always had the sense that someone is watching her . . .

If the victim isn’t Didi, who is it—and what’s the connection? Remmi is shocked when Noah resurfaces. He was also in the desert that night, and now runs his own PI firm. He too believes it’s time to find out what really happened. As they and Detective Settler dig deeper, the truth about Remmi’s missing family begins to emerge . . . a story of ruthless ambition and twisted lies that someone will kill again and again to keep hidden . . .

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my second book by Lisa Jackson and I must say, I don´t know if I´ll read another one.

As the first book I read by this author it =had great potential, it could have been a great book, but it was really boring with so many point of views. The story just didn´t evolved. I felt like I was reading the same part over and over, and was really annoying.

Which reminded me that I just read a book with a lot of poitn of views like this one, but it well written and didn´t gave the same feeling.

So, I´m sorry but I can´t say I liked this book.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Chased (Chase Brothers #3) by Lauren Dane

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

In the end it will all come down to two days in a hotel and a bet. Can they both win?

Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I´m a fan of Lauren Dane´s books and they are always a fun reading.

Liv and Matt´s story hits a little to close to home because as a older woman I can relate to Liv´s feelings, its always hard to not let the society expectations to influence your choices, specially in this situation where we are trained to think poorly of a woman in this situation.

Matt is a sweet guy. I just wish he existed in real life, actually I wish all the Chase men existed in real life. The world be such a better place. *insert happy sigh here*

----------------------------------------------------------------------

* insira feliz suspiro aqui *

A New Orleans Threesome by Louisa Bacio

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Haunted by paranormal abilities that she can't control, and plagued by nightmares about a demon that seeks her soul, Lily Anima travels to New Orleans in search of salvation. In the French Quarter, Lily dives into the paranormal world and enlists the help of an unlikely couple: a vampire, Lawrence Justice, and a werewolf, Trevor Pack. As the trio encounters ghosts, voodoo and unspeakable evil, will Trevor and Lawrence be able to help Lily turn her powers into a gift rather than a curse? And when Lily discovers that she needs to lose her virginity in order to embrace her powers and get the demon off her back, will the twosome be able to survive as a threesome?

------------------------------------------------------------------

I really wanted to like this book. It had everything to be a great book. A interesting plot, and a great setting."NEW ORLEANS" everybody. But it was a slow start, that felt like it was dragging, and the interesting plot fell flat, just didn´t evolved like it was supposed to.

It´s always difficult to review a book with so much potential, but that it wasn´t so great as expected.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Eu queria muito gostar desse livro. Tinha tudo para ser um ótimo livro. Um enredo interessante, e um ótimo cenário. "NEW ORLEANS" meu povo.

Double Down (All In Duet #2) by Alessandra Torre

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review

-----------------------------------------------------------------

In Vegas, there was one man who was off limits. One man... and I fell for him.

I knew there were risks. Still, I played the game. When Dario Capece called, I answered. When he beckoned, I came. When he broke all my rules, I looked the other way.

I knew there were risks. I just never realized they included death.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

As a HUGE fan of Alessandra Torres´ books, it was a great honor for me to receive this ARC from netgalley. Thanks a lot.

This book is the second one in the All In Duet, and it starts right after the end of the first book.

With Bella Running away form Vegas because of Gwen´s murder.

I loved how Dario think of Bell, even through all the hell he was going through with Gwen´s murder, his prison and everything else after.

He´s first priority was always Bell, and that´s made me feel for him even more.

I loved how he never backed down, even when everybody was judging them because of their relationship. And how he never let Bell feels like she´s the other one. She´s his top priority and he makes her feel all his love for her.

It was worthy of the waiting

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Valeu a espera.

Even Money (All In Duet #1) by Alessandra Torre

Sometimes it only takes a minute. A connection of eyes across a room, a quickened heartbeat, and everything changes.

I was a cocktail waitress with a fondness for partying and meaningless sex.
He owned half of Vegas, with the reputation to match.

I should have turned away. Instead, I stepped closer.

Then, the lies started.
Rumors spread.
Stalking commenced.
And someone died.

None of it stopped me from falling in love.

--------------------------------------------------------

I love Alessandra Torre´s books. They´re all so enthralling and they always hook me in easily.

This one was no different. Even, with Dario being married, I never felt like he was cheating on Gwen, because it explicited very clearly how they didn´t have a sexual relationship. But, they did have an emotional connection. And sometimes it felt like he was cheating on Bell, even if she was the "mistress".

It was a complicated situation, and I was really irritated with Gwen when she became angry with Dario, about his need to end their relationship. And when she tried to seduce him back, specially because she was in love with Nick and had a relationship with him for a very long time.

I loved how Dario chased Bell, like a moonstrcuk teenager. He fell and he fell hard for her. Their connection were strong and instantaneous.

I can barely wait for Double Down.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Eu mal posso esperar por Double Down.

#Moonstruck (#Lovestruck #2) by Sariah Wilson

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Over one million “likes”—but only one of them matters.
After pop star Ryan De Luna praises Maisy Harrison’s YouTube cover of his classic hit, he offers Maisy and her fledgling band the opportunity of a lifetime: to be his opening act.
Music may be Maisy’s life, but she has one ground rule: never date a musician. That goes double for a heartbreaker like Ryan. If only she didn’t feel so vulnerable to his larger-than-life charm. And maybe now more than ever, when he asks for her help to shake off his playboy image. How can she resist playing the part of his fake girlfriend for the duration of the tour?
Ryan’s never met anyone like Maisy. She sees past all the star-studded fame and treats him like any other guy. And the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself falling for her. Now he’d like to make their imaginary fling an IRL thing. But can he convince her to take a chance and trust him with her heart?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
What a sweet, lovely book. I loved very much, specially Ryan. He´s the worthy swoony kind of guy.
He knew from the very start what he liked, and he went for it. It´s alwyas beautiful to see a guy who doesn´t play games and know what he wants.
I felt like the baby part was totally unnecessary and I think it was a much better solution for the baby father to be Diego rather than Ryan´s father.
But, take this out of the way, and I loved this book very much.
Thanks for the opportunity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rock Legend (Nothing But Trouble #2) by Tara Leigh

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm no Prince Charming.

Most people know me as the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. Depending who you ask, I'm also a playboy, a loner, the life of the party, a screw-up, or according to my fans, "The Sexiest Rock Star on the Planet." Apparently, I'm a legend.

Am I surprised? Hell, no. It's a reputation I've earned behind my drum kit and behind closed doors. No one thought foster kid Landon Cox would become famous. Infamous, maybe. Notorious, probably. But successful? Never. No one except Piper Hastings. But I had to make a choice: my woman or my career. I picked fame and fortune... and spent every damn day since pretending I don't regret it.

Now fate's dropped Piper back into my life. I want to believe it's a second chance for me - for us. But while I can give her a few great nights, I can't give Piper a future.

Because there's a difference between a legend and a fairy tale...
Only one of them ends happily ever after.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I usually love books about band members, and this one could have been so much better.

It wasn´t a bad book, but it didn´t grow to its full potential.

Landon just gave me hives with his childishness. He was so weak, never capable to man up on his own.

And always blaming Piper for his problems. Oh, she doesn´t want me so I´m going to bury myself in drugs. Oh, she doesn´t want me, so nothing else matters.

I like the book full of angst as much as the girl next door, but sometimes its angsty feel forced and completely unnecessary.

Go on by yourself Piper, you deserve better.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, ela não me quer, então eu vou me enterrar em drogas.

Strangers on a Bridge by Louise Mangos

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review

---------------------------------------------------------------

She never should have saved him.
When Alice Reed goes on her normal morning jog in the peaceful Swiss Alps, she never expected to save a man from suicide. But she does. And she shouldn’t have.
Adamant they have an instant connection Manfred’s charming exterior grows darker and his obsession with Alice grows stronger.
In a country far from home, where the police don’t believe her, the locals don’t trust her and even her husband questions the truth about Manfred, Alice has nowhere to turn.
To what lengths will Alice go to protect herself and her family?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

We live in a world were we can trust nobody, and there is a saying that says no good deeds goes unpunished. When you think about saving someone´s life, you´d never think that same person will turn against you, but all three things above, has turn out to be true.
That´s a very insteresting background to a story, and it had a great potential to be terrifying. But, Alice´s choices felt kind of dumb. Like the person who always run up to the top floor of the building while running from the psycopath with an axe trying to kill everyone.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Envy by Dylan Allen

If envy is a sin, then let me be damned.

Graham was born to be a star.
Once upon a time, that star shone only for me.
Now, I have to share him with the rest of the world.
For a while, I thought could do it. Because, beneath the hypnotic smile, gorgeous body and God given charm that made him famous, I caught glimpses of my best friend.
Of the boy who called me sunshine and loved me.
I wore that love like a crown... until he placed it on another’s head.
Losing him was agony, distance felt like the only cure.
When tragedy reunites us after years apart, it only takes one touch to erase the past.
Just like that, I’m back in his arms.
He promises this time will be different. But I’m afraid to believe him.
Because, behind his star’s blinding brilliance is a darkness that doesn’t want to let him go.
I know a star that bright can’tbelong to just one person, but my jealous heart doesn’t want to share him.
I want all of him..even if wanting what doesn’t belong to me leads me to ruin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am a fan of Dylan´s work since I read Thicker Than Water, and she didn´t let me down with Envy.

The beginning of the book was a surprise, because the blurb doens´t let on how the story begins, it doesn´t mention anything besides friends that were separated and one of them has become a star.

So, it was a good surprise for me how their story begins, and I spent a lot of time trying to understand how Graham could go from that start to a celebrity status, and I must say, although I liked this book very much, I didn´t like how Graham´s story evolved, and I don´t like problems caused by lack of comunication, so I struggled with it. But, it was a great story, I loved Graham and Apollo. They were meant to each other from the very beginning.

I really love Dylan Allen books and this one was no different.

Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts

Sometimes, there is nowhere safe to hide.

It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at the video-game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived.

The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. In the years that followed, one would dedicate himself to a law enforcement career. Another would close herself off, trying to bury the memory of huddling in a ladies' room, hopelessly clutching her cell phone--until she finally found a way to pour her emotions into her art.

But one person wasn't satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait--and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors ever.

She never cease to amaze me with her stories, with how capable she is to evolve and adapt in a different world.

Shooting is a real current subject, and Shelter in Place was written perfectly.

The different point of views were on point, the evolution of history itself was made in a masterly way.

Simone relationship´s with her family were so real, so raw. I related very much, in the opposite way, I´m more like her sister, and my mother is more like Simone´s grandmother. So, I could relate a lot with the all the problems they had to endure.

Reed was perfect like almost every main male character written by Nora. I just wish they existed in real life.

I felt the ending was kind of rushed, the scene were the murderer was killed left me with a sensation that something was amiss. But, it was the only part that I felt like this, everything else was perfection.

The Girl and Her Ren (The Ribbon Duet #2) by Pepper Winters

“What do you do when you write down all your secrets? No…that’s not enough. What do you do when you write down all your secrets and the one person who should never read them does?
I’ll tell you what you do.
You hope.”

REN
Ren didn’t know the meaning of love until he took Della for his own.
To begin with he hated her, but as the months bled into years, he learned the opposite of hate, dedicating his life to giving her everything.
Every sacrifice, every gift, he gave wholeheartedly.
But then love turned to lust and ruined everything.

DELLA
I was stupid to write my secrets down, but I’d been stupid before so it was nothing new.
I couldn’t blame him, hate him, fix him.
I tried to move on without him.
But no matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to delete the secrets I’d written.
Until something happened.
Until he came back and read my stupid secrets.
And nothing was the same after that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This story left me with a book hangover.

I loved The Boy and his Ribbon and was waiting fot this one anxiously.

Do you know what is finish a book and crying your eyes out? It was so hard to read this book, because it made feel so much, I was a mess after finishing it.

The first chapters I was so angry with them. So much time wasted, they were apart when that wasn´t necessary, just because of lack of comunication, and I don´t like this. Is a pet peeve of mine. And, even with their relationship starting to blossom, they still had problems cause bu their lack of comunication.

But, I can´t say it was a nice book. On contraire it was a great book, I could say it was the greatest book of this year, but it left my head so messy, hurting for them, that I can´t even remember which other books have I read this year. It was one hell of a emotional ride, that made my heart break and heal alongside Della and Ren.

I wish they could have more time together and a little girl. But, I feel that this book was perfect as it is, even with my pet peeve. And any change could change the whole outcoming.

Just One of the Royals (The Chicago Falcons #2) by Leah Rooper

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Star hockey player Daniel Sacachelli wants only two things: 1) for the Falcons
to win next season, and 2) for his secret — the fact he’s actually the prince of Eldonia — to never make its way to Chicago. But if Daniel keeps avoiding his crown, their family will lose their kingdom forever.

Madison Myong can’t believe that her will-they-or-won’t-they best friend Daniel is
really a prince! He’s always seemed more rebel than royal. But now, he needs to clean up his image, fast. Posing as his long-time girlfriend, Madison accompanies him back to Eldonia, intending to give Daniel a makeover fit for a king.

Only, the more royal Daniel becomes, the more Madison misses her best friend. And if she does her job right, she’ll lose him forever...

Just One of the Royals is the second book in a series and I didn´t read the first one yet. But, it can be read as a standalone.

I liked the team, and the friendship between all of them. Daniel´s family was nice.

It had a good plot, and could have been a great story, but it just fell flat, kind of forced. The reason for the fake relationship was weak and Daniel and Miranda were more friends than anything else.
