It Had To Be You
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review
Actually, It Had To Be You, has 2 stories.
The first one is: Molly Cooper's Dream Date (The Fun Factor #5) by Barbara Hannay
Pacific islander Molly Cooper has house-swapped her way into London's exclusive Chelsea. It's her dream to explore Britain...and meet a perfect English gentleman!Patrick Knight is finding Molly's chatty emails strangely compelling. The onetime city banker thought swapping his London pad for Molly's idyllic cottage would help him write his first novel--but it's not quite working out...
What do you do when you realize the on you want is half a world away, living in "your" home, sleeping in "your" bed...?
This story reminds me of "Holiday" (O amor não tira férias, pt-br) with Jude Law, Jack Black, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz.
It is a interesting plot, and has a unique storytelling. I think 70% of the story is told through e-mails and journal´s entries and though this is different, also is a dangerous move, because if it is not well written the reader can't connect with the story and characters.
I felt like it was dragging during most part of the book, and also Molly was annoying with her complaints about Patrick´s "lies". I think what he did was really romantic.
In a general way, I think a lot of people will like, but for me, while it wasn't the worst book, it also wasn't the best.
The second one is: Shipwrecked with Mr Wrong
Marooned in paradise with a beautiful woman is surely the only way for a truly committed playboy to get shipwrecked! Ideally, however, Rob Dalton would have chosen a slightly friendlier companion! Prickly conservationist Honor Brier clearly just wants to be left alone with her birds and turtles.
Honor's had more than her fair share of heartbreak, and the isolated island has been a perfect place to recover in peace. She has no time for accidental tourists. Yet Rob is charming and infuriatingly attractive—his sheer passion for life is difficult to resist. Slowly Honor is discovering that even playboys may have their good points .
It has a good beginning, the heroine was a Debbie Downer, but I could overlook for a while, then became too much and I just couldn´t overlook it anymore. She was, downright, a annoying bitch.
Unfortunately I couldn't really see a improvement in her behavior and the end felt rushed.

Destiny (Montana Dreams, #2) by Cait Jarrod
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
With the exception of one dear friend who treats her like a daughter, Autumn Wilcox keeps her heart closed off to others. Now this friend struggles with her last breaths and makes a request—for Autumn to find the elusive rainbow that will reveal her destiny. She doesn’t have faith in such tales, but for her friend, she agrees and seeks a pilot to take her to Bluebird Valley, Montana.
After the death of his parents and his brother’s war injury, Travis Carson withdraws and his heart goes numb. He dives into work until his brother settles in Montana because of Travis’ insistence to carry out their parents’ dream of living in the mountains. He quits his search and rescue job to purse his vision of opening a scenic tour business in Montana. So, when friends ask him on his last day of the job to give a woman a ride to the Big Sky Country state, he agrees. Simple, easily done, but the swirl of energy radiating off her has him agreeing and doing things out of his norm. He can no longer push away his feelings to protect his heart. He wants more.
This book has a nice plot but could have been better. It started with a pace so slow I was almost skipping ahead. And when the story started for real I couldn´t connect with the characters.
I give 2.5 stars.

Vintage (Vintage #1) by Lisa Suzanne
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Born the daughter of a rock star and his groupie, my life should have been full of glitz and glamour. But the excess and embarrassment of that life didn’t interest me. Instead, I killed time at Vintage, a record store where I stocked shelves and lacked ambition.
Everything changed the moment I pressed play. One simple lyric awakened me.
When I stopped denying my attraction to the man behind the music, I started questioning his intentions. We were meant to cross paths, but it wasn’t because of fate.
Someone was playing with our lives.
It seems like I can't review this book. I started many times but the right words just don´t come.
I think the plot was good, but it could be better. I felt the chemistry between "Jimi" and Parker, it was unbelievably hot. But the story itself felt like too much. Too much drama, too much subplots, the main character even had too much names. She was called Roxy, CC and "Jimi".
I suggest you to read and make your own conclusions.
Flirting with Fame by Samantha Joyce
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Elise Jameson is the secret author behind the bestselling, cult hit Viking Moon series. But when a stranger poses as Elise, the painfully shy, deaf nineteen-year-old starts to see how much she’s missing. Can she really hide in the shadows forever? This clever, coming-of-age debut is for anyone who has ever felt unsure in their own skin.
After a freak childhood accident leaves her deaf and physically scarred, nineteen-year-old Elise Jameson retreats into a world of vibrant characters she creates on her laptop. She is shocked when her coping mechanism turns into a career as a phenomenal bestselling novelist. Fans are obsessed with Elise’s Viking Moon series and its author—a striking girl with zero resemblance to Elise who appears on the back covers. Elise sent the randomly Googled photo to her editor following a minor panic attack. Now, horrified to learn she is expected on set of the television pilot based on her novels, Elise tracks down her anonymous stand-in. To Elise’s surprise, Veronica Wilde has been taking credit for Viking Moon for years. She eagerly agrees to keep up the charade if Elise will pose as her assistant.
It’s hard for Elise to watch a stranger take credit for her work and get all the perks she desires, including admiration from the show’s heartthrob star. Edged onto the sidelines of her own life, Elise reconsiders her choice to stay anonymous. Is she ready to come to terms with her true identity—and with the long-buried secrets that could cost her her career, her fans, and the few precious friendships she’s made?
I loved the blurb, so I requested at NG. It was a good book, well written, no dragging, a lot of drama. My problem with it was Elise. All the problems she had to face in this story was made by herself. Sometimes I just wanted to enter the story so I could shake some sense into her.
I think this was the first book by Samantha Joyce, and in a general way I liked very much. So I will certainly be looking for another books she´ll write.
Fighting Dirty (Ultimate #4) by Lori Foster
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
He's the hottest MMA fighter in the game, but one woman is ready to try out a few steamy moves of her own in an unforgettable new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster...
With the life he's led and the muscles he's gained, Armie Jacobson isn't afraid of anything. Except maybe Merissa Colter's effect on him. It's not just that she's his best friend's little sister. Fact is, she deserves better. Women pursue him for one night of pleasure, and that's all he wants to offer. Until rescuing Merissa from a robbery leads to the most erotic encounter of his life.
Good girl meets bad boy. It's a story that rarely ends well. But Merissa is taking matters into her own hands. No matter how he views himself, the Armie she knows is brave, honorable and completely loyal. And as past demons and present-day danger collide, they're both about to learn what's truly worth fighting for…
Has been a long time since I read one of Lori Foster's books. And it was kind of disappointing. I used to love her books, but Fighting Dirty ,though it was nice, it wasn't as good as what I expect from her books.
The plot was good but It felt like it was dragging and when I finished, I was relieved it was finally over.
Hooked by Love (Bellevue Bullies #3) by Toni Aleo
Things are out of control for the Sinclair boys! With two already in the NHL, Jace Sinclair is ready to follow in his brothers’ HUGE skates in the last Bellevue Bullies novel…
Jace Sinclair here, and I’m amazing. There is no other way to describe me. I am the leading scorer for the Bellevue Bullies, I’m the captain, and people love me: my family, my teammates, my coach, and the NHL. I already have one foot in the draft and I’m ready. This is my last year in college–it’s basically a conditioning year to get me ready for the NHL, to further my game, and I have to be focused. But then, it’s also my last year to have fun and not give a damn before my life really starts. Which means I’m gonna run through every girl I meet. That’s my plan. Because my one and only love is hockey. It keeps me warm even when it’s freezing. It’s always there when nothing else is. And it pushes me to be the best I can be. It’s my love.
That is, until I see her against a tree with a guitar.
Avery.
The last thing I wanted was to meet anyone. My heart is on the bench because I’ve watched my mom get broken by the person I call my father, and I don’t want that for myself. I don’t want to be hurt by anyone. I can’t give them that power.
But my heart is begging for ice time, and I can’t control it around her.
* * *
I’ve always been in the background. No one has ever had time for me and that’s fine; I’ve learned to cope. Coming from a family where hockey is life, the last thing I want is some big, burly hockey player charging at me. I don’t have time for it, but Jace Sinclair isn’t one to be deked around. The thing is, I came to the University of Bellevue for one reason and one reason only. To make my dreams of being a singer/songwriter come true. To work in the industry and pay my dues. Become who I really want to be.
I didn’t want to meet anyone. I didn’t want to end up freezing the puck with him. It’s not what I want.
I have demons.
I have issues.
Living in the shadows, no one even knew until it was too late. But Jace wants to know.
He wants me.
And that scares me the living hell out of me.
We were so worried about what would happen if we fell, but we never thought what could happen in the process of falling. We never saw it coming. But it’s here, and the repercussions are not pretty. We should have known that there is no way out of the zone when you are being Hooked by Love.
So, I'm always like this after finishing one of toni Aleo´s books. I feel like I was misguided into reading it. I love NA books, and the blurbs of her books always makes me want to read it. But, until now, it always let me down.
The plot, though good, is poorly written and the characters one-dimensional. The book itself was so long that I said Hallelujah when it was over.
I couldn´t connect with Jace and Avery, they didn´t felt real. And Avery´s family felt even less real. The whole book were like this, nothing felt real. I spent the whole story waiting for the punch line, for the explanation for the way Avery´s family treated her and in the end there was no explanation for the way her parents and brothers, specially Matty(Avery´s twin brother) treated her.

Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan
Kira Dallaire is desperate.
Some challenges in life seem too hard to overcome. With little money, and even fewer options, the quick-witted and vibrant twenty-two-year-old needs to reinvent herself. Known for her generous heart and impulsive personality, she devises a survival plan, possibly her most outrageous idea yet.
Grayson Hawthorn is losing hope.
Some obstacles in life seem too hard to overcome. Betrayal definitely being one of them. With limited capital, and dwindling resources, he is attempting to resurrect his failing family vineyard, a self-imposed vow seemingly destined to fail. That is until a young woman enters his office with an outlandish, unexpected proposition impossible to refuse.
What begins as a temporary business arrangement, soon evolves into more as vivacious, spirited Kira challenges detached, arrogant Grayson to want more from life. To want more for himself. But as their wills clash and fiery passion ignites, they'll realize that sometimes the past creates walls too difficult to climb, and that lies and deception rarely precede a happily every after.
As Kira and Grayson race toward their destiny, they will discover that some vows are meant to be broken, and others are worth risking everything for . . . even your very own heart.
Mia Sheridan´s books always surprise me. I read Leo and Leo´s chance first, I didn't like so much, but then I read Becoming Calder and Finding Eden, and I completely, totally, utterly loved them. So when I started to read Grayson's Vow, I was in the dark, it could be good, but it also could be awesome. And thankfully was awesome. Mia is now in my fav-authors list.
