Combative (Combative #1) by Jay McLean

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

We all play victims to our pasts; to the choices we make and the lives we create.
They define who we are.
And sometimes if we're lucky enough, the past stays where it belongs: in the past.
I'm not one of the lucky ones.
I never have been.
Because now the past is knocking on my door, offering deals I have no choice but to take… deals that will help bring justice—not just for me, but for my brothers.

The problem?
The deal is a ticking time bomb.
One I didn't know existed.

Tick.
Tock.

Jay Mclean´s books are always perfect. I love how sweet and tender her heroes are. Kyler is the personification of a book boyfriend, I loved him.

Seize the Dawn by Heather Graham

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Bold and beautiful, Lady Eleanor of Clarin--sole heir to her ancestral lands--chooses to marry an aging French noble rather than Edward I's choice of a brutal knight. To preserve Clarin and defeat the rebellious Scots who killed her father, she would gladly give her hand to the devil himself.

But when the fiery Highland outlaw Frendan Graham takes her hostage, he also inspires her deepest desires. Now, as Eleanor is swept away from her beloved land and into an arranged marriage, she will be surrounded by treachery and accused of murder. Only one man can rescue her from the torture and death that lie ahead. The man should remain her greatest enemy--yet holds her heart--and her very life--in his hands.

Has been awhile since I read a historic romance, But I love Heather Graham´s book so I could not let it pass this chance to read and review her book.

It didn't disappoint me, it was as good as I expected.

Yes, You (The Reed Brothers #9.5) by Tammy Falkner

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

This short story was originally published in the anthology 12 Christmas Romances To Melt Your Heart
This is not a full length novel. It's a short story that was requested by readers who wanted to know how Reagan's parents met. It's about 12,000 words.
You might remember them. They have two children named Reagan and Lincoln. Find out how their love story started in Yes, You.
One bad boy, one good girl.

The question - Who? Me?
Yes. You
.

Yes, You is a sweet short story. It tells us Reagan´s parents story. I loved it.

Holding Her Hand (The Reed Brothers #9) by Tammy Falkner

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Boy meets girl.
Boy falls in love with girl.
Girl falls in love with boy… SCREECH!

No. It can’t be that easy. (You knew that, right?)

Boy meets girl.
Boy can’t fall in love with girl, because girl comes from a different culture.
She also has secrets. Lots of secrets he’s determined to uncover.

He’ll try to uncover all her secrets. But in doing so, he’ll have to remove the gloves she hides behind. Leave her bare and aching. And what happens then?

Girl meets boy.
Girl falls in love with boy.

I´m a big fan of Tammy Falkner´s stories. She know just how to make me drool over a book boyfriend. Holding her hand teaches us that the prejudice is not always so obvious and can come in unexpected ways.
Boy can’t love her back.

Corinne (The Carmichaels, Book 1) by Charlotte Penn Clark

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Corinne Carmichael is fighting for her independence. Her powerful political family insists she abandon her modeling career but she plans to enjoy her last photo shoot in Hawaii before returning to college in the fall. Meeting a hot young French photographer is icing on the cake. But when her life starts to get complicated she finds she relies on her long-distance boyfriend more and more. When tragedy strikes can what started out as a light-hearted summer romance turn into something more serious?
This is Book 1 (the prequel) of a series on the five Carmichael sisters. It is a standalone novel for mature readers

This book fell flat. Though the blurb was nice, the story itself was lacking. Lacking depth, lacking a real connection between the MC, it was awful. It felt forced and false. It´s a real sad thing to say about a book, when the author put so much to write. But, unfortunately, we read a lot of this kind of book until we find a awesome one.

The Fable of Us by Nicole Williams

Her heart can’t be destroyed by the same person twice. At least that’s what Clara Abbot finds herself hoping when she runs into Boone Cavanaugh less than an hour after returning to Charleston.

As kids, Clara and Boone had been each other’s firsts, and no one or nothing could stand in the way of their forever. But all kids have to grow up sometime. The troubled son of the town drunk winding up with the firstborn daughter of the local royalty was a happy ending even the most imaginative of fairy tales couldn’t make believable.

Their fable came to an end as most do: tragically. Boone might have done the leaving, but it was Clara who got away and made a new life for herself in California. But after seven years of dodging her hometown, she’s only back in Charleston for seven days to celebrate her sister’s wedding. She won’t let her overbearing family or her run-in with Boone rattle her—though rattling her is obviously Boone’s primary objective.

Boone is her past and her past is behind her, a mere speck in the rearview. So why does she feel it coming back every time she looks at him? Why does she see it every time he looks back?

Just when Clara’s life can’t possibly get more complicated, the ground shifts, and she discovers just how far her family was willing to go to keep the wrong boy out of her life. Was it really Boone who left her? Or was it Clara who left him?

The truth will be hard to face. Especially when she discovers most of her life has been built on lies.

Clara and Boone (I love this name since Lost) were son in tune through the whole book, I don´t know how they could think they're wasn't supposed to be together.

Their story was really sad with so many betrayal form Clara´s family. Charlotte was a B.I.T.C.H. And I didn´t get it why she could get away with that behavior without her parents say anything. And Ford, he cheat on Clara, with her sister, for god´s sake, and her dad would accept Ford marrying Charlotte after everything they done was beyond my comprehension.

Jockblocked (Gridiron #2) by Jen Frederick

She’s always played it safe…

College junior Lucy Washington abides by one rule—avoid risk at all costs. She’s cautious in every aspect of her life, from her health, to her mock trial team, to the boring guys she dates. When a brash, gorgeous jock walks into the campus coffeeshop and turns his flirt on, Lucy is stunned by the force of attraction. For the first time ever, she’s willing to step out of her comfort zone, but can she really trust the guy who’s determined to sweep her off her feet?

He’s always played around…

Entering his last year of college eligibility, linebacker Matthew "Matty" Iverson has the team captaincy in his sights. And it’s his for the taking, if he can convince his quarterback Ace Anderson to give up the starting position. Luckily, Matty already has an edge—the hottie he’s lusting over just happens to be Ace’s childhood best friend. Getting Lucy on his side and in his bed? Hell yeah. Matty is more than confident he can have both, but when he falls hard for Lucy, it’s time for a new game plan: convince the woman of his dreams that she’s not sleeping with the enemy.

I think I have a new favorite author. Until now, all the books by Jen Frederick that I read was awesome.
I loved Jock Blocked. Lucy and Matty was so cute together. They´re just perfect for each other.
I have a weak spot for heroines with health problems, I don´t really know why. And Lucy was the the perfect combination of a strong woman with the strength needed to bulldoze through life, but also with some vulnerability, a sweetness. And she was really faithful with her friends, goals and everything else.

Matty was a sweetheart, Iloved him very much, since the very beginning, through the whole book.
