Whatever It Takes (Second Chances #2) - L.E. Bross

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Tess is burdened with a responsibility she’s not quite sure she can handle, and Ryan is determined to save her from it—if she ever stops pushing him away—in this sexy follow-up to Right Where You Are, the first new adult novel in the captivating Second Chances series.

Tess is a lot of things. Strong. Independent. Determined. Completely overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being her little brother’s caretaker. But she can handle it. She has to. Because there’s no way in hell she’s letting anyone else raise Noah.

Ryan’s happy with a life on cruise control. He has no intention of tying himself down. That road only leads to heartbreak, a lesson he learned the hard way when he was fifteen. So why can’t he stay away from the one woman who broke his heart?

Tess knows exactly why Ryan keeps popping up right when she needs the most help: He’s got a hero complex big enough to save Cinderella. But Tess isn’t that girl, and she refuses to let him be part of her life. Not even when Noah takes a liking to him. Not even when they kind of, maybe, hook up.

Not even when she starts to fall for him…

This is the second book in the Second Chance series, is about a different couple, Ryan and Tess, but is as good as the first one.
Well written the story is fast paced and drama-free, which I love. Ryan is the kind of guy every woman dream about, he´s sweet, caring, understanding and most of all Tess can count on him to share her burden.

And Tess is the kind of girl every men should dream about it. She´s independent, fierce, loyal, work hard, and she may think Ryan can help, but she´s not waiting for him to do it.

The Wedding (Lux #5.5) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

It´s a sweet and short story about Daemon and Kitten´s wedding. The only problem is... it´s short.
#DaemonandKittenforever

Found on Wattpad here:

This should not be read unless you have read the Lux series.

Oblivion (Lux #1.5) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

I'm a super fan of JLA books, specially the Lux series, #DaemonandKittenforever. And I waited anxiously for Oblivion release date, and put all books aside so I could read Oblivion. I loved soooo much, to relive this story again, that I read the Origin and Opposition again as well. And the wedding.
If you never read this series I strongly recommend you to put everything aside and start right now, if you already knows Daemon and Kitten story, but didn't read Oblivion yet, I strongly recommend you to put everything aside and start right now.
Though Oblivion tells the same story of Obsidian, Onyx and Opal in Daemon´s POV, it has a lot of new scenes and dialogues.

I recommend this book to everyone who loves YA or NA books, with a twist of sci-fi and revolution. The love between Katy and Daemon is one of the most beautiful things I ever see.

E The Wedding.

Stars in her Eyes - Kennedy Kelly

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Red carpet and one look was all it took to ignite the spark between Sachi Waters and mega-star Drayke Sloan. With a proposition that is typically left in the movies, the two find themselves consuming each other in a whirl wind weekend.

But when Sunday night rolls around, Sachi finds she didn’t just give Drayke her body, but her heart, too. He promised to stay in touch. But after months without a word, she gave up hope.

Until life threw them together again. The spotlight, the fans, their past all working together to keep these two apart. Can their love over come it all?

This book has mature content and is only suitable for those 18 and over.

Ok, I´m in a serious trouble here. This book has a really good premise, I love a movie star book, but it was just bad. In every way, the character development is inexistent, the plot was terribly developed, the lines went from cheesy to crude to idiotic, some scenes were grotesque.
And the real trouble for me was almost every one saying this book was good, made me ask myself if I read the same book.
Sachi went from sassy to a whine and cry and throw up, so much that I spent most part of the book thinking she was pregnant.
The MC´s has no real connection, everything felt forced.
Is hard to write a bad review, because we all know how much work an author put behind each book, but this one has no redemption.

Future Shock by Elizabeth Briggs

I was given an ARC in exxchange of a an honest review.

Elena Martinez has hidden her eidetic memory all her life--or so she thinks. When powerful tech giant Aether Corporation selects her for a top-secret project, she can't say no. All she has to do is participate in a trip to the future to bring back data, and she'll be set for life.

Elena joins a team of four other teens with special skills, including Adam, a science prodigy with his own reason for being there. But when the time travelers arrive in the future, something goes wrong and they break the only rule they were given: do not look into their own fates.

Now they have twenty-four hours to get back to the present and find a way to stop a seemingly inevitable future from unfolding. With time running out and deadly secrets uncovered, Elena must use her eidetic memory, street smarts, and a growing trust in Adam to save her new friends and herself.

As a fan of Back to the future series I had no doubt about requesting this book.
And, lucky me, it was awesome.
Well written, full of intrigue and twists this book kept me in my feet, waiting for the punch. I couldn't put it down, went to sleep at 3 am, so I could finish soon.
I felt for them like if I was there too, running like a mouse in a labyrinth.

I think the romantic part could be bigger, but that´s my only complain.

Ready To Rock: A Rock Star Romance (Save the Date 0) by Cara Connelly

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

His name's on everyone's lips--sexy rocker Jack McCabe. His gritty New York City band is red hot, almost as hot as his fiery affair with photography student Lil Marchone, the girl from his past, now the woman he loves. The problem is, Lil's controlling ex wants her back. Rich, powerful, and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing--including murder--to get Jack out of her life. But Jack's a badass himself, always up for a fight. And with the stakes this high, he'll risk everything for Lil, even his band. Even his life.

I loved this book from the very start, but it had some things that bothered me a lot.
Like Lil leading Claude on. I don´t like cheaters, and she could have avoid a lot of trouble for her and Jack if she had put her big girl panties on. And her uncle Peter, I just wanted to get in the book and shake some sense into him.

Jack was perfect, his alpha male behavior was hot without being idiotic like Claude´s. And the fact that he was so gifted and still being so humble. His chemistry with Lil was off-the-charts-hot.

The Girl's Got Secrets (Forbidden Men #7) by Linda Kage

I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.

Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy...and makes the cut.

Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.

But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.

When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

Though the "girl posing as a boy" theme is old-fashioned I love this kind of story and this particular one was awesome.
Well written, funny, steamy. I loved how Asher was super blasé about Remy "homossexuality".

Jodi, Rmey´s best friend, is a riot, she hit on every pair of pants in front of her. She cracked me up. The scene where Asher´s bandmates leaves her bedroom and she says to Remy " They´re was fighting because of me, I taught them how to share" made me lmao.
